Pneumatic Butterfly Valve

A pneumatic butterfly valve is a type of quarter-turn valve that uses compressed air (pneumatics) to automatically control the opening and closing of a butterfly valve disc. It combines a butterfly valve body with a pneumatic actuator, making it highly suitable for automated industrial systems where fast and reliable flow control is required.

Construction & Components

A pneumatic butterfly valve consists of the following main parts:

• Valve Body – The outer casing that fits into the pipeline
• Disc (Butterfly Plate) – A circular plate that rotates to control flow
• Shaft (Stem) – Connects the disc to the actuator
• Seat – Provides sealing between disc and body
• Pneumatic Actuator – Uses compressed air to rotate the disc

The actuator is mounted on top of the valve and is responsible for converting air pressure into mechanical motion.
